Shawn Woods is the Founder and President of Ashlar Homes. A homebuilder known for quality craftsmanship, community enrichment, and an award-winning workplace culture in the homebuilding industry. Raised in a family deeply rooted in real estate development and construction, Shawn’s journey was anything but conventional.

Although homebuilding was the family business, Shawn initially envisioned a future in professional sports. After facing personal and academic setbacks, including a difficult period in college, he returned to finish his finance degree.

A pivotal turning point came with the loss of his father, which inspired Shawn to reevaluate his purpose and approach to business. This period of personal growth sparked his entrepreneurial spirit. He soon launched his first company specializing in concrete and masonry work. The success of that venture laid the foundation for his entry into homebuilding, where he has since established Ashlar Homes as a leader in the Kansas City market.

Shawn’s expertise extends beyond construction. He is recognized for building an exceptional company culture, earning honors such as “Best Places to Work” and inclusion in the prestigious Builder 100 list. These achievements reflect both his leadership and his commitment to his team. His dedication to community involvement is evident through projects like the Ms. Jackson Home, highlighting his belief in giving back and building with purpose.
